Another Deep Commentary on a Collegue's Blog

In a fellow classmate's blog post "Unemployment Benefit...No Problem," I couldn't help, but notice how the issue of unemployment was being introduced. I have seen both sides of the issue watching many of my own family members having to apply for benefits. The job world is very hard during this day and age. No one is doing that great in this economy, everyone is struggling. This fellow classmate takes into consideration about the situation, but jumps right into how so many people take advantage of the system. No matter what issue it may be dealing with the government whether it be unemployment or taxes, people take advantage of the system. However, just because some people take advantage of the system doesn't mean that others should have to be judged or suffered from other people's wrong doings. There will always be bad people that screw it up for other people there is nothing the government can do about unless they want to take away everything from everybody. Also even though I don't agree with everything that is being said, I do believe that some times the government seems to make it too easy for the wrong people to get benefits and for those that need them the most its difficult for them. So in order to find the happy medium the government needs to be able to distinguish between the ones working hard to find their way to a job and those sitting on their couch doing nothing.

Deeply Writing a Commentary

Schooling and education is something that U.S. as well as the rest of the world stresses. In other words, they are trying to better educate the future. However when it comes to Texas and education, the two don't seem to mix well. Education in Texas is far behind the rest of the nation and it doesn't help that the legislation is doing very little about it. For many years Texas was always being boasted as being one of the best in education when Bush was in the presidential office. However looking back on the statistics, Texas as far from being the "perfect state" when it comes to education for many reasons. One main reason is the lack in funds to the Texas' education system. Texas is so focused on not raising taxes that it has created a deficit in the Texas budget and it makes the government hard to make ends meet. So in order to make ends meet they take money away from other area like education that is already suffering from antiquate funds. This inadequate funds is greatly affecting the education of the future of Texas for Texas was ranked 45th out of all 50 states when it came to SAT scores. On top of that Texas is the lowest of all the states to not have many people have high school diplomas over the age of 25. All these statistics point to the issue of Texas having a poorly funded education system as well as education itself. No matter what way the table is turn Texas is not doing a very good job of making education a top priority and its suffering because of it.

Commenting Deeply on a Colleague's Work

In Tori's commentary "Texas Sonogram Law Road to Unnecessary," she speaks about the new sonogram law that makes women submit a sonogram before having an abortion and how this wrong to force women to do as such. I agree fully what she is saying about it being hard for these women to get rid of their babies. Why must they hear a heartbeat as well if these women actually have some moral thought about losing the baby? When it comes to abortion I find that its an up in the air topic for me, I find that abortion is a good and bad thing. Thus so is this law. Many of the times the women that are having an abortion have a reason to do as such, but sometimes women have abortions for the wrong reasons like they don't want responsibility or they have their own life to live. I find that in some ways this law can help those that use abortion as a get of jail free card when it shouldn't be used in the way. I find that if the bill was modified for those that don't have the heart and consideration about having an abortion means should be required to give a sonogram and for those that are doing it for the right reason shouldn't have to.

Deep Into Writing a Commentary.

The lack of legislation meeting more that once every two years has left the use of revenue in Texas in the hands of people and organizations that severely misuse it and take away from other areas that require funds.

Texas should consider more than depleting other funds to make up for the deficit in the budget. Instead of using makeshift bills and passing budgets that call for the deprivation of the community in order to make ends meet for the government. Texas legislation should work more towards giving the money back to the consumer to aide them even if it means paying higher taxes as the cost of developing a bigger community that intern aids the legislation by allowing more revenue to flow through the government. An alternative to assigning amounts of revenue to corporations and associations to spend the money on areas that actually require it such as education, transportation and safety. For example The Texas Tribune interview with Joe Straus spoke of moving around funds in the house budget in order to make up for areas of deficit, like the "Rainy Day" funds 4.3 million dollars being transferred to help make up for the government budget. He goes on to states that the people have realized along with the legislation that cuts are needed to be made in order to assist with the budget. With so many of these cuts it is no wonder of why the legislation is forced into taking funds out of other revenue sources that severely need it.

In short legislation already has their answer for fixing the budget, however they are more interested on saving face with the public instead of doing what's best for a growing community.

Deep Thoughtful Critique of a Texas Blog

Stumbling about trying to find an interesting topic to discuss, I found this topic on Rick Perry and stimulus money.
Ben Sherman commented on what Rick Perry wrote in Fed Up, in Rick Perry on the Issues: Stimulus Money. Ben Sherman is a constant blogger with Burnt Orange Report. His main audience is for people looking for the truth behind Rick Perry's words. Ben Sherman argues that Rick Perry's statement, "We are fed up with bailout after bailout and stimulus plan after stimulus plan, each one of which tosses principle out the window along with taxpayers money," is a lie considering that Texas excepted a $17.4 billion dollar federal stimulus grant to help Texas out. Sherman continues to say that if Perry was so set on and cared so much about his principle when it came to the stimulus grant Texas received back in 2009. Sherman backs up this argument with the evidence of how hypocritical and a cover up-er Perry really is because of much the federal stimulus money helped out Texas and how dependent Texas was on the money. Some of the money was used to help plug holes in the imperfect budget that totaled up to 3.3 billion dollars. Also 17. billion dollars was used to make "shovel ready" job projects. Even though all these uses for the money helped Texas, Perry is misleading America about the dependence on stimulus money even its clear to see Texas was the state most dependent on it. Sherman's logic is that Rick Perry is very untrustworthy and continues to cover up the mistakes he makes instead of confronting them or telling the truth about the situations. Sherman creates the Rick Perry's Stimulus Hypocrisy by establishing the points in how Perry does and view things. With these steps it proves that Perry isn't being very honest with the American people and has his own agenda to become president then to serve the American people.
I agree with what Ben Sherman is saying about what Perry was saying Fed Up was hypocritical of him and lying to America about how stimulus money doesn't matter yet back in 2009 Texas received $17. 2 billion federal stimulus grant.

Critiqueing into the deep of a Commentary

Upon looking about many different commentaries and editorials, I finally stumbled upon this on statesman.com, Green: Tuition law helps Texas economy because it had to do with secondary education for immigrants.
Joshua Green is a Bloomberg Businessweek's national correspondent, along with his column being in the The Boston Globe. The commentary was intended to audience of Republican supporters who opposed some of the choices that Rick Perry has made that are under fire at the moment. The argument that Green was making was for the 2001 law he signed that allowed many illegal immigrants to go to college and higher education was a good thing that Rick Perry did even though he is getting hell from his own party. Green backs up this claim by saying that having a higher education for immigrants allows helping the Texas economy grow. He quotes the Center for Public Policy Priorities, which is a Texas think tank, on how the median hourly wage of a Texas worker with bachelors or higher is almost double with only high school diploma, and three times as much with someone who didn't finish high school.  With all this money, Green says that Texas could overcome its shortfall of $27 billion dollar budget. With this logic in mind, Green thinks that even though Perry is getting hell for this law he passed and defending it wasn't wrong of him because when it come to the Texas economy the law his helping it grow and not hindering, like most people and Republicans believe it is. The logic of this defense is further supported because it is know that Texas is the home to more than 1 million illegal immigrants and with all those people getting education and making three times as much as a person without a high school diploma, means there will be a huge boost in the Texas economy. Just think 1 million immigrants times three times as much money of a non-high school graduate, that's $23,400,000 an hour.
With that much of a jump in money, it’s hard not to help defend Rick Perry trying to boost the Texas economy by signing that law in 2001.

Looking into the deep of Perry's executions

Upon stumbling about for an article of interest, this article caught my eye.

Perry the Executioner, this article talks about how Texas is the leading state in the country for executions and its all thanks to Perry and the flaws of the justice system.

The article goes into detail of how Texas how some of the many cases that the defendant got the death penalty for inaccurate evidence or for being part of the party associated with a murder. The article opens up to a case a special case of Foster who was waiting for the BPP and Rick Perry to decide his final sentence. The article continues to show how out of the norm it is for there to be so many executions for Texas and also how Perry seems to trying to keep secret all the flaws and imperfections of deciding sentence for the convicted. The article continues to say how dangerous this can also be for the justice system and Perry to not take a second look at any other possibilities and doubts, even if it might save an innocent man’s life even though it may not look so appealing to the public.
